The corten steel table lamp, model Lucetta, is inspired by the “doilies” our grandmothers used to make in the olden days.
The doily was a small artifact made with crochet, lace-making, and knitting needles. It usually had a decorative function. With its rounded shape, it highlighted vases, figurines, and trinkets, preventing them from scratching surfaces.
The shapes and textures of those doilies have been re-interpreted by designer Massimiliano Saracino, who has masterfully transformed them into original and extraordinarily ingenious pieces of furniture.
Lucetta conjures up times long gone, when grandmothers used to put their children to sleep by candlelight while handcrafting doilies that would adorn the house the next day.
In this specimen, the essence of the tradition of Puglia is encapsulated. Lucetta looks good anywhere: to decorate tables in the most intimate moments or to embellish home atmospheres with reflections and shadows that never fail to attract everyone’s attention.
